No, you don't. The Discovery Meeting is at James' expense. This allows you to see if the service James can offer is of value to you.

True Potential are an external service who manage our client portal, and have a team of people available to help should I be unreachable.

This is a complicated area and James is not licensed as a pension transfer specialist. If this is needed, he can recommend you to a specialist team at True Potential who can give advice.

The technology James uses allows you to access your investment information via your client website and send secure messages if James is away from the office. If James is not going to be available, there is a local financial planning firm who are able to help while James is away.

It depends on your situation and how complicated your financial plans are. This is usually discussed and agreed at the end of the first meeting.

There is a fee, agreed up front, for the initial Financial Planning work and an initial percentage of the money invested for setting up investments or pensions. The ongoing service to help clients live the life they want, is paid for by a monthly percentage charge taken from the investment portfolio.

Only for protection products such as Life assurance, Critical Illness or Income Protection plans if these are required.
