Long term support
Elsie and her husband became clients 24 years ago, James has worked regularly to advise them since, Unfortunately Elsie’s husband died about 10 years ago. Building a relationship with clients over a long period of time, allows the trust to develop and means James really gets to know his clients to enable him to support them through life’s up and downs.
Initially James helped to plan for providing for their children’s education, the focus then moved to retirement planning and inheritance tax planning.
Now in her mid 80’s, Elsie describes the advice as providing a balanced approach, not too cautious and not too risky. During her retirement, income came from investments to allow for holidays and other leisure activities.
Reflecting on the long relationship James has had with Elsie, she said: “I had confidence that James was advising me on the best investment choices for me, meaning I no longer had to worry, I had peace of mind and I could relax knowing that my finances were being looked after well.”
